Network Rail Easter Engineering

Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 April 

Due to engineering works taking place on the railway over the Easter weekend, Tram Train services will be unable to serve Rotherham Central and Parkgate.
 
Valid tram tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach and First buses between Sheffield, Meadowhall, Rotherham and Parkgate.
 
Valid tram tickets will also be accepted on Northern Railway replacement bus services between Meadowhall, Rotherham Central and Parkgate.

 

The Northern Rail replacement buses will operate as follows;

  • Sat 8 April - around hourly, leaving Meadowhall Interchange at approximately 25 minutes past the hour, and Rotherham Central at around 35 minutes past the hour. The journey to Parkgate takes around 7 minutes from Rotherham Central. From Parkgate buses will leave at around 10 minutes past the hour, 20 minutes past the hour from Rotherham reaching Meadowhall around 30 minutes past the hour.
  • Sun 9 April - around hourly, leaving Meadowhall Interchange at approximately 25 minutes past the hour, and Rotherham Central at around 35 minutes past the hour. The journey to Parkgate takes around 7 minutes from Rotherham Central. From Parkgate buses will leave at around 10 minutes past the hour, 20 minutes past the hour from Rotherham reaching Meadowhall around 30 minutes past the hour.

The journey between Rotherham Central and Parkgate should take around 7 minutes so please leave adequate time particularly if you are boarding this service at Parkgate.

The replacement buses will serve the usual bus stops outside Parkgate only - Rotherham Road/Stadium Way 37030864 headed towards Rotherham and Rotherham Road/Stadium Way 37030863 headed towards Parkgate.

Tram services on other routes are not affected and will continue to operate as advertised (note that a Saturday service operates on Good Friday and a Sunday service operates on Easter Monday). Tram Train services will operate between Cathedral and Meadowhall Interchange on the 8 and 9 April.
