New cleaner and greener Stagecoach buses in Sheffield
Stagecoach Yorkshire has made a major £5 million investment in cleaner, modern buses for Sheffield with 20 brand new double deck buses.
The vehicles feature Euro VI engines, which are cleaner engines helping to cut carbon emissions and improve air quality in the city as older buses are replaced.
Sporting large adverts on the outside so customers can spot the new buses, the fleet of 20 brand new double decker buses are mainly being used on the popular 120 route which runs from Halfway to Fulwood.
Stagecoach Yorkshire’s Managing Director, Matt Kitchin, said: “The new, modern fleet of double deck buses represents a huge investment by Stagecoach in Sheffield and highlights our commitment to improving bus travel in the region”.
“We hope the new buses will encourage more people to use public transport as a sustainable travel option instead of driving their cars to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in their local community.”
