Stagecoach has announced that it will run extra services due to the sudden closure of Hulleys of Baslow who announced they will cease trading after service on Wednesday 26 March.
Stagecoach are stepping in to provide an hourly daytime service 170 which will run daily linking Chesterfield Rail Station, New Beetwell Street, Baslow and Chatsworth to Bakewell. School journeys will also be catered for with one journey each way diverting to serve Holymoorside and extending to/from Lady Manners School.
Stagecoach will also run the 63 service from Chesterfield to Matlock under contract to Derbyshire County Council, from Thursday. There will be no changes to the route or the timetable.
John Young, Commercial Director, Stagecoach Yorkshire said –
“When we heard the very sad news about Hulleys closing, our team here at Chesterfield worked extremely hard with Derbyshire County Council colleagues to look at where we could support customers in the Peak District area. The replacement service for 170 will start on Wednesday 26th March and service 63 on Thursday 27th, ensuring no gap in provision.”
We’ll also accept any valid Hulleys ticket on our services to support customers affected.”
