Stagecoach Yorkshire offers job opportunities for former staff at CF Booth

Employees whose futures are threatened by the collapse of Rotherham scrap metal recycling firm, CF Booth, are being offered the opportunity to apply for positions at one of the region’s biggest bus operators, Stagecoach Yorkshire.

CF Booth, previously one of the largest metal recycling companies in Europe, entered administration with the loss of an estimated 114 jobs, and 54 more still in doubt.

Stagecoach Yorkshire is a major employer in the region, with an award-winning depot in Rawmarsh, as well as depots in Barnsley, Chesterfield and two in Sheffield, employing colleagues in a range of roles including Driving, Engineering, Support, and Cleaning. In total, approximately 1,170 colleagues currently work for the bus operator across our region.

Dawn Murphy, Operations Manager of Stagecoach Yorkshire in Rawmarsh, said: “The reality is that in a terrible situation like the collapse of CF Booth, an awful lot of hard-working and talented people get caught up through no fault of their own. We would like to offer them the possibility of a new start and a new career.”
