Great Park Bus Services

Welcome to your Great Park bus services

Working in partnership with Newcastle Great Park Transport Advisory Board, Stagecoach are delighted to announce bus services for Great Park.

These changes have introduced more direct buses from Great Park to Newcastle City Centre, with up to five trips each hour.

There are more buses running during evenings and Sundays too.

The main bus route in Great Park is Service X47. This route operates via Kingston Park, and then runs express and direct to Eldon Square Bus Station in Newcastle City Centre.

Stagecoach Service 49 has been introduced to replace Go North East Service Q3 between Great Park and Newcastle Eldon Square via Gosforth and Great North Road.

Service 49

Service 49 is introduced between Great Park and Eldon Square Bus Station, running via Warkworth Woods, Regent Centre and Gosforth High Street. Within Great Park, Service 49 follows an anti-clockwise loop, running from Brunton Lane via Sir Bobby Robson Way, Wagonway Drive and Roseden Way (east side), picking up at the same stops around the loop as new X47.

During Monday to Friday schools peak times, Service 49 runs more frequently between Great Park and Regent Centre only (up to every 13 minutes). This is to accommodate the key scholars travel demands in this area. Outside these times, in the main daytime period between approx. 0830-1400, buses run hourly between Great Park and Eldon Square, with some additional late-afternoon and mid-evening trips returning at 1705, 1820 and 1920 from Eldon Square, and at 2008 and 2038 from Regent Centre to Great Park.

On Saturdays, all Service 49 journeys run the full route, hourly, between approx. 0900-1920, with some additional shorter journeys running between Great Park and Regent Centre during early mornings and early evenings.

Approximate journey times: Great Park to Regent Centre = 12 minutes, Great Park to Newcastle Eldon Square = 28 minutes

Changes to buses in Kingston Park

Services X47 and X77/X78/X79

Route X47 operates in both directions along the east side of Windsor Way (via 'The Windsor' Public House), and therefore not serve the Ascot Court area. Customers travelling from the eastern side of Windsor Way and Kingston Park Road travelling towards Newcastle need to board X47 on the opposite side of the road.

For customers near Ascot Court, the route of services X77/X78/X79 is amended. All trips on these routes run between Kenton Bank Foot and Kenton Bar via Brunton Road, Windsor Way (Ascot Court) and Brunton Lane, which also improves access to Kingston Park Shops and the retail park from further afield. Service X77, X78 and X79 continues to run up to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes and hourly during early evenings and on Sundays.
