Frequent and direct Stagecoach buses run between Great Park and Newcastle City Centre, with up to five trips each hour. There are also regular and direct buses running during evening and Sunday periods too.

The main bus route in Great Park is Service X47. This route operates via Kingston Park and then runs express and direct to Eldon Square Bus Station in Newcastle City Centre.

Stagecoach Service 49 also runs between Great Park and Newcastle Eldon Square, serving Regent Centre, Gosforth and Great North Road on the way.

Service 49

These buses run between Great Park and Eldon Square Bus Station via Warkworth Woods, Regent Centre and Gosforth High Street.

During the main daytime period, Service 49 buses run hourly between Great Park and Eldon Square.

At Monday to Friday schools peak times, some additional buses operate on Service 49 between Great Park and Regent Centre only (approximately every 13-15 minutes), in order to accommodate the key scholars travel demands within this area.

At Great Park, Service 49 buses follow an anti-clockwise loop, running from Brunton Lane via Sir Bobby Robson Way (for Esh Plaza) and Roseden Way.

From Sunday 30 August 2026, following residents’ feedback, and working in partnership with Great Park Consortium, there will be some changes to Service 49:

Service 49 buses will additionally serve Primrose Lane (westbound), and the west side of Roseden Way (Service 49 customers for Village Centre should utilise the nearby stop on Roseden Way, rather than the stop on Wagonway Drive). This route change improves access to Regent Centre and Gosforth from more parts of Great Park.

An hourly evening and Sunday Service 49 timetable is also introduced. These additional journeys will boost links between Great Park and Gosforth during off peak periods, as well as also increasing links to and from Newcastle City Centre.

During Monday to Friday afternoon periods, more Service 49 buses will continue beyond Regent Centre, in the process additionally serving Gosforth High Street and Newcastle City Centre, running once an hour.

Service frequency: Up to every 60 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, every 60 minutes during Sunday daytimes, and 60 minutes each evening.

Approximate journey times: Great Park to Regent Centre = 16 minutes, Great Park to Newcastle Eldon Square = 28 minutes
