1 Tally Ho

A friendly and welcoming family orientated pub. The pub has a great selection of real ales and lagers accompanied with a main menu and special boards. As well as a homemade traditional pub menu they also serve a selection of baguettes, jacket potatoes, salads and ploughman's. The pub features a large child friendly garden. Dogs are welcome.

Large pub at southern end of village with L shaped front bar and large restaurant area behind, part of which can be used as a skittle alley. Several outside areas with a garden and patios. Food is served all day.

3 Swans Nest

A friendly and welcoming family orientated pub situated on Station Road just off the A379 Exeter to Dawlish road at Exminster. It has been an inn since 1876 and was originally called Station Inn, serving the old railway station on the route of Brunel's original Atmospheric Railway. The Swans Nest is a Palmer's house serving their range of beers. Good value home-cooked food is available from breakfast through to 9pm, 8pm Sunday's.

4 Atmospheric Railway

Under new tenants from late Spring 2021. A traditional pub situated directly opposite Starcross train station containing railway memorabilia, a real fire, function room and enclosed garden (no pool or darts). Homemade food is available all day from Tuesday to Saturday and roasts are available on Sunday on a first come first served basis (12pm to around 4pm but best to book). Children and dogs are welcome. While there is no dedicated disabled toilet, both toilets are on the ground floor and have level access. The pub has its own car park and bike racks directly opposite the pub.

5 Anchor Inn

On picturesque Cockwood harbour, this 450-year-old inn and former seaman's mission has many old settles, timber paneling, low beams and snugs, with an impressive display of old nautical memorabilia. It has an extensive award-winning seafood menu, with mussels a speciality. Up to five ales are usually offered. Haunted by a friendly ghost and his dog, this is a really atmospheric Devon gem. Close to the main GWR line, it is a steam train spotters' paradise. Limited parking; bus stop over bridge.

6 Ship Inn

A very busy family-run pub, close to the picturesque harbour at Cockwood, with a roaring log fire in the winter and a large beer garden with views of the estuary in warmer weather. The pub is popular with drinkers and diners alike. There are usually up to three regular, and two rotating guest ales on offer. An excellent food menu is available, lunchtimes and evenings, with food prepared from local produce where possible, including a varied choice of locally caught fish. The number 2 Stagecoach bus stops about 100 metres across the bridge.

7 Brunswick Arms

Family orientated pub overlooking The Brook and The Lawn. It offers outside seating, a good spot to sit in the afternoon sun watching the famous black swans of Dawlish. Two guest ales are usually on offer, plus a real cider which changes; food is available. Skittles, pool and darts are played; children and dogs are welcome. Easily accessible by train and bus. Happy hour is 5-6 all week except Sunday 4 to 5.

8 Gresham House Inn

Formerly the Laffin Pig, the pub changed its name to Gresham House Inn, its original name, when it was taken over in June 2011. It is a friendly back street boozer, situated 200 metres from the river that runs through The Lawn with the famous Dawlish black swans.

9 Marine Tavern

Traditional seaside pub with suntrap patio at the front and a sea view balcony which also provides a great viewpoint for passing steam train specials. Accommodation is available consisting of four rooms, and children are welcome in an area away from the bar. Dogs are also welcome. Occasional live music is hosted, and there are interesting local photos to view. This pub is easily accessible by bus or train.

10 Teignmouth Inn

The Teignmouth Inn has a friendly atmosphere and is a great pub for sports fans with a large screen for Sky Sports. Karaoke is popular on Friday's, and pools and darts are played. There is a smoking area outside and upstairs balcony. A feature is a well at one side of the bar, which is also decorated with frogs. Dogs are welcome.

11 Smugglers Inn

With splendid coastal views, this roadside free house has an excellent reputation for food, served lunchtimes and evenings, the carvery being a particular attraction. The carvery is served Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm; Sunday 12pm to 9pm. The bar area has a wood-burning stove. There are two regular ales and one variable guest. The outside area is popular at all seasons, with its separate smokers' canopy. A mini beer festival is held towards the end of January, usually featuring about 14 ales, and regular entertainment is hosted. There is a car park, and buses pass the door.

12 Blue Anchor Inn

Grade II listed building in the town's Teign Street Conservation area, and opposite the entrance to the docks. It is the town's premier Real Ale Pub with eight hand pumps, six of which are dedicated to constantly varying beers. At the side and rear of the premises is an excellent outdoor drinking area. Generally a quiet pub, although it does have a jukebox and pool table.

13 Molloy’s

Town centre pub. One bar is broken up into separate areas, with a woody feel and old barrels as tables. Excellent outside drinking area to the front in a pedestrian way and preservation area. Three TV's and a projector. A loyalty scheme operates with a £2 card receiving 10% discount.
