Popular city center pub entered via a courtyard and spread over three floors. Over the years the number of real ales stocked has fallen and the number of ciders has risen. Real ales are served on gravity and are generally sourced locally; while the ciders, of which there are normally ten available, are sourced more widely. Pizza is the main food (14" square and essentially for sharing) while on a Sunday lunchtime a traditional roast is served. Monday evening from 8pm for the quiz; Live music every Friday and Saturday from 10pm. The pub is close to Exeter High Street bus stops and Central railway station. No children under ten allowed, due to licence restrictions and over 18's only after 5pm. Card payment only.

The pub is situated near the Clock Tower and has mixed clientele. The food side is unusual as it has a Vegan and Vegetarian Menu alongside the standard one. There is a Quiz night on Thursdays and on Sunday a Carvery 12 - 15. Other than Sunday Carvery time, the pub is Dog Friendly.

This is a large J D Wetherspoon pub close to the university, Central and St David's railway stations, with buses passing close by. Built in 1810 as Elmfield House, it was converted into the Imperial Hotel in 1923, and remained a hotel until 1994. It opened as a Wetherspoon's in February 1996, and its attractive architecture and orangery, which was added by Dr William Buller Henderson, who purchased the property in 1897, is still there to be enjoyed. The large garden offers plenty of tables and seating to enjoy in the fine weather. Ten real ales are usually available, including Abbot and Ruddles; guest ales often come from local breweries. Real cider is available but not all boxed ciders / perries here conform to CAMRA's real cider / perry definition. Good-value food is served all day until 11pm, and families are welcome. The pub is well frequented by the local student population. A function room is available for meetings etc. Wetherspoon's beer and cider festivals are regularly held, including some showcasing local breweries.

The Stoke Canon Inn is a community owned and run pub, saved from extinction by a dedicated team of volunteers from the village. It offers a spacious beer garden for the warmer weather, and a woodburner for the winter months. One real cider is usually available. Good-quality home-cooked food is served. Live events are featured (check website for details). Opening hours may vary. Awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service in 2020.

A large, popular pub, owned by Marston's, located in a picturesque setting next to the River Exe. Although this thatched inn looks very old, it was only built as a private fishing lodge for Bickleigh Castle in 1933. There are 21 B & B rooms, and a large car park. The inn overlooks a medieval 16th-century bridge, and herons can often be seen feeding in the river. It can be very busy during the tourist season.

A friendly pub situated right by the central bus station, and close to the Pannier Market. Good-value food is served lunchtimes, and two real ales are usually on offer. Traditional games are played, and the pub is family and dog friendly. Breakfast is served from 8.30am.

A traditional locals pub, with an unusual feature of a solid brick bar. One, well kept real ale is on offer. The pub is family and dog friendly. Food is available, Wednesday to Saturday, with a carvery on Sunday. Traditional games are played and live music is featured, plus sports TV. There are extensive outdoor spaces including a courtyard to the front and large lawned garden to the rear and a large covered and heated outdoor seating area.

Former coaching inn, situated just off the town centre, next to the Exe Bridge. Built around 1823 and became a Wetherspoon in 1998. Re-styled in 2019 to include upstairs toilets a downstairs extension and sliding and fold out doors to the large rear seating area and terrace. Features a glass covered walk over well. Pay and display car park at the rear. Up to ten real ales and Sandford Orchards cider available.
