Back Stagecoach, We've got you

Basingstoke Network

We’re making some changes to our Basingstoke bus network from Sunday 11th January 2026.

The way people travel is constantly changing, and we need to offer a transport system that adapts to evolving demand. These latest changes in Basingstoke are designed to improve punctuality across our main routes and keep buses in the right place at the right time. Route changes may require a change of bus for some of our customers but will increase punctuality across our network and keep delays to a minimum.

  • Minor timetables changes on service 7, 8, 11 and 20
  • New earlier and later journeys on service 6 (in East Popley) and 20
  • Increased frequency for service 6 (in East Popley)
  • Reduced frequency on services 5, 6 (in Winklebury) and 20 (Saturdays only)

There are no changes to services: 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 22, 32, 76

Route Changes

Service 6 (East Popley to Winklebury via Town Centre) will be split into two routes as below

6 Town Centre to East Popley

  • Same route between the Bus Station and East Popley
  • Enhanced to run every 12 mins Monday to Saturday (currently every 15 mins)
  • Earlier and later journeys throughout the week
  • Same 20 minute frequency on Sundays and Public Holidays

Town Centre to Winklebury

  • Same route between Bus Station & Winklebury
  • Buses will run every 20 mins Monday to Saturday (currently every 15 mins)
  • Buses will run every 30 mins on Sundays and Public Holidays (currently every 20 mins)

Why have we made these changes?

Service 6 will be split into two routes to better meet the varying levels of demand in Winklebury and East Popley. The 6 has remained unchanged for many years, these changes are being made to respond to the latest travel patterns and patronage across the route.

Through/transfer tickets will not be available; however, customers will benefit from Basingstoke DayRider tickets at £5.50 – cheaper than two capped single fares. Better savings can be made with our DayRider bundles on the Stagecoach Bus App (save an extra 20%), or our longer period MegaRider tickets.
