Free travel on the 32!

Christmas has come early for Basingstoke and Newbury with three Saturdays of FREE travel on the 32! 

Simply hop on board the 32 on Saturday 6th, 13th, and 20th December 2025 and pay nothing. Service 32 runs hourly on Saturdays connecting Basingstoke, North Hampshire Hospital, Kingsclere and Newbury. 

The free travel scheme is valid across all buses in West Berkshire and has been delivered in partnership with West Berkshire Council, using funding from the Government's Bus Service Improvement Plan. All journeys on the 32 starting outside of West Berkshire have been provided by Stagecoach, simply hop on and enjoy free travel there and back!

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do when I board the bus?

Simply hop on board and tell the driver where you're headed, they will then issue you a paper ticket for your journey at no cost!

I'm a concessionary pass holder, what do I need to do?

If you're a concessionary pass holder, you'll just need to scan your pass as normal when you board.

What dates are the buses free?

Buses on the 32 only will be free on the following dates:

  • Saturday 6th December 2025
  • Saturday 13th December 2025
  • Saturday 20th December 2025

Will any of the other buses be free?

No, only buses on service 32 will be free in partnership with West Berkshire Council, using funding from the Government's Bus Service Improvement Plan.

What happens if I've already bought a ticket? 

You won't need to buy a ticket to travel on the dates above, if you have already bought a ticket, do not activate it, we will not be issuing any refunds for tickets activated and used on any of the free travel days.
