We're proud to introduce your new service 8, linking Yateley to Darby Green, Frogmore and Farnborough hourly, 7-days a week!

 

To celebrate your new service, we're offering FREE travel on service 8 on Saturdays and Sundays* until the end of September! Have a free day out on us,  try the bus for the first time, travel green, and explore your local community. Scroll down to view the timetables and maps, and FAQs for your free day out! 

 

There improvements are made in partnership with Hampshire County Council, using funding from the Government's Local Authority Bus Grant.

 

*includes Monday 31st August (Bank Holiday Monday), where a Sunday service will be in operation. 
 

Your Service 8 >>>

Your new route will run hourly, 7-days a week, with an additional 30 minute peak frequency during weekdays. Service 8 will provide vital links to education, employment and leisure destinations in Farnborough, as well as onward railway connections at Farnborough Main Station.

 

Getting you to... 

🏫 Education; at Farnborough Sixth Form Colleges and local schools

🏢 Employment; at Farnborough Business Park, Farnborough Gate Retail Park and more

🛍️ Leisure; enjoy shopping at Princes Mead and The Meads shopping centres

🚅 Railway Stations; connect to onward trains outside Farnborough Main Station

 

School journeys

The timetable will also encompass school and college journeys previously run as service 406, including extensions to/from Eversley and Finchampstead.

Other improvements to Yateley 🚌

Service 3 will be revised to run every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday, with resource reinvested into the new service 8. Changes will also include:

• NEW late evening journeys Monday to Saturday
• NEW late evening & early morning Sunday journeys
• MORE buses on Sundays, now every hour

 

We're making a number of improvements to services across the Blackwater Valley, including more Saturday buses and new early morning/late evening buses.

Frequently Asked Questions


What do I do when I board the bus?

Simply hop on board and tell the driver where you're headed, they will then issue you a paper ticket for your journey at no cost!

I'm a concessionary pass holder, what do I need to do?

If you're a concessionary pass holder, you'll just need to scan your pass as normal when you board.

What dates are the buses free?

Buses on the 8 will be free on the following dates:

  • Sunday 30th August 2026
  • Monday 31st August 2026 (Sunday service for Bank Holiday)
  • Saturday 5th/Sunday 6th September 2026
  • Saturday 12th/Sunday 13th September 2026
  • Saturday 19th/Sunday 20th September 2026
  • Saturday 26th/Sunday 27th September 2026

Will any of the other buses be free?

No, only buses on service 8 will be free. 

What happens if I've already bought a ticket? 

You won't need to buy a ticket to travel on the dates above, if you have already bought a ticket, do not activate it, we will not be issuing any refunds for tickets activated and used on any of the free travel days.
