It's easiest if we break this down by country.
England
In England, it's called the 'older person's bus pass' or the 'disabled person's pass'. You can use it in most areas in England for travel:
- Between 9.30am and 11pm on weekdays
- All day on weekends and bank holidays
Unfortunately, you can't use it for travel in Scotland or Wales.
Scotland
In Scotland, the concessionary bus pass is called the National Entitlement Card. You can use it for travel:
- Any time, any day of the year
- Unfortunately, you can't use it for travel in England or Wales.
Wales
In Wales, it's called a 'concessionary travel pass' or 'cerdyn teithio rhatach'. You can use it for travel:
- On all local bus services anywhere in Wales
- On some journeys into England, including routes 39 and X4
Check out our concessionary travel page for more information about passes and how to apply.
