Perth-based football team Fair City Juniors have started the 23-34 football season off strong with a brand-new kit sponsored by Stagecoach.
The club welcomes children aged between three and twelve, and introduces them to the fun, healthy and exciting world of football.
Stagecoach East Scotland Managing Director Douglas Robertson said, “Community is at the heart of everything we do at Stagecoach, and we are absolutely delighted to sponsor these fantastic young people.
“Through our continuing commitment to sustainability, we have pledged to do our part to ensure that Perth is a greener place for this generation of children. Earlier this year, we brought a fully-electric city bus network to Perth, with a total investment of a £4.8m in vehicles and infrastructure. We are also working with schools and local community groups to encourage modal shift to sustainable forms of transport, and to ensure that bus travel is inclusive and accessible for all.”
Stagecoach was founded in Perth in 1980 and remains a major employer in the area, with over a hundred people working at its Inveralmond depot. The company also has a customer services centre and Head Office on the city’s Dunkeld Road.
The company aims to have a zero-emissions bus fleet in the UK by 2035, and is also introducing over 400 new fully electric vehicles in the next year, reducing carbon emissions even further. Last year Stagecoach's services across the UK helped prevent the release of 239,844 tonnes of carbon into the atmosphere.
