Stagecoach to Trial New Matchday Bus Service Between Bootle and Anfield Stadium

• Stagecoach will trial a new direct 968 matchday bus service linking Bootle with Anfield Stadium.
• The service will operate from three and a half hours before kick-off, with return journeys available after the final whistle. 
• The new route will provide fans in Bootle and surrounding areas with a convenient and affordable way to travel to matches.

Stagecoach is set to launch a trial of a new dedicated matchday bus service, the 968, providing Liverpool FC supporters with a direct connection between Bootle and Anfield Stadium.

The trial service will operate for the upcoming pre-season friendly fixtures on Sunday 9th and Sunday 16th August, giving supporters another convenient option for travelling to and from the stadium on matchdays.

The introduction of the 968 complements Stagecoach’s existing matchday services, which include the popular 917 service from Liverpool city centre and the Soccerbus service from Sandhills Railway Station. Together, these routes provide fans with convenient and reliable access to Anfield from across the city region.

Like the 917 and Soccerbus services, the new 968 service will operate from three and a half hours before kick-off from Bootle Strand Bus Station, with frequent departures, helping supporters arrive at the stadium in plenty of time to enjoy the pre-match atmosphere. Return journeys will also be available after the final whistle, providing a convenient and hassle-free journey home.
