Stagecoach South East has launched a how-to guide for students in Kent who catch the bus to school.
Ahead of the upcoming school year, Stagecoach has created a video and leaflet for pupils, parents and teachers on the dos and don’ts of getting the bus.
Filmed at St George’s School in Broadstairs, the bus company spent the day with students and assistant headteacher, Lisa Welsh.
The group of year 7 pupils acted out a number of scenarios such as how to wait for the bus, how to behave on the bus and what to do if your bus is full.
The information leaflet, along with a frequently asked questions sheet for parents and teachers, will be sent to every primary and secondary school in the areas Stagecoach serves in the county.
The company’s commercial director, Matthew Arnold, spoke of the importance of the guide for students and their families to have to hand.
“Starting secondary school can be extremely daunting for young people and coincides with them gaining independence as they travel without their parents, possibly for the first time.
“This guide has been made to ease travel anxieties so students can feel confident as they begin taking the bus as part of their everyday routine.”
