New public transport links for Kent’s Leeds Castle

A regular bus service will begin calling at Leeds Castle from this week. The 10X bus that runs between Ashford and Maidstone will stop off in the Castle grounds providing a direct public transport link for visitors to the top tourist attraction.

Buses will serve the Castle grounds on an hourly basis on Monday to Saturday, stopping close to the Coffee Shop and toilets where passengers can connect with the Castle Land Train for an easy ride through the estate parkland to the Castle itself.

The 10X route has also been extended in Maidstone to serve Maidstone East Railway Station, providing a connection with train services from Swanley and London.

Not only will the bus service provide a convenient link to and from the Castle for people living between the two towns, but it will also enable people access from further afield by connecting with train services at Maidstone East.”

Bus tickets start from just £2 for a single journey in-line with the government’s national bus fare cap.

Leeds Castle is one of Kent’s top attractions, as well as being a popular venue for weddings and conferences. The castle runs a ‘Green Travel Offer’, providing 20% off entry for visitors using public transport.
