Date night in Plymouth
In Plymouth you can make the most of the longer days riding into Summer on the bus to the barbican which is a hive of evening entertainment. Head to The Fishermans Arms on the Barbican one of Plymouth’s oldest pubs serving traditional British food. Route 1 service on the Stagecoach South West city services from North Road East to Royal Parade will take you there.
This summer couples, friends and families could also head to The Big Tribute Fest at Central Park Plymouth from 31st July to 3rd August with the UK’s best tribute acts and a family friendly vibe finishing at 10pm in the evening each day.
The 1 service goes from Plymouth to Tavistock via Derriford Hospital and Yelverton and the number 2 from Plymouth to Saltash via Milehouse which is where the Big Tribute Fest is located.
Post work dinner with the family in Exeter
In Exeter you can ride into the summer evenings and enjoy a meal out with the family at one of the city centres delicious eateries such as Rendezvous wine bar in Southernhay which has a beautiful garden for outdoor dining.

A night out with friends in Torbay
In Torbay enjoy the lighter nights and head to the seafront to enjoy a night out with friends. For a dinner spot with a view head to Pier Point in Torquay accessible by the route 12 bus.
You could head to the Electric Bay Festival at Torre Abbey Meadows which takes place from Friday, July 11th to Sunday, July 13th, 2025, featuring renowned artists like Fatboy Slim, set against the stunning backdrop of the seafront, the festival runs late into the night.
Night services operate on the 12 from Torquay to Brixham via Paignton and 22 from St Marychurch to South Devon College via Paignton, both within a short walking distance to the festival ground.
Dinner by the sea in North Devon
In North Devon you could head out for dinner and drinks at Saunton Sands Hotel and enjoy a long summer evening with live music and a coastal backdrop at the Saunton Sundowner sessions, held every Friday evening until the 5th September at Saunton Sands.
The 21 service to Barnstaple to Bideford via Yelland route passes through Braunton, making it accessible from various points along the way. The bus stop at Saunton Sands Hotel is just a short walk from the beach, providing easy access to the shoreline. Night buses in North Devon include the 21B from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe via Braunton.
