Stagecoach Supports Families with New Range of Child Tickets

  • New child tickets available from 31 August, including 7 Day, 28 Day, Flexi 5 and Flexi 10 options
  • Unlimited daily travel for children from just £2 per day in selected zones
  • Tickets available exclusively via the Stagecoach app, with gifting options for parents#

 

Stagecoach South West, part of the UK’s leading bus operator, is rolling out a new range of great-value child bus tickets, giving families even more flexibility and savings just in time for the new school year.

From 31 August 2025, children will be able to access a wider range of ticket types, including:

 

  • 7 Day Child Ticket
  • 28 Day Child Ticket
  • Flexi 5 Child Ticket
  • Flexi 10 Child Ticket

 

These new options offer unlimited travel for as little as £2 per day in areas such as Barnstaple, Exeter, and Plymouth — helping parents manage school and leisure travel costs more affordably.

 

Peter Knight, Managing Director at Stagecoach South West, said:

“We’re committed to making travel more accessible and affordable for local families. By expanding our child ticket range, we’re giving parents and carers more flexibility, better value, and the peace of mind that comes with smart, app-based travel solutions.”

Flexi 5 and Flexi 10 Child Tickets allow travel on any five or ten individual days, making them ideal for both regular school commuters and occasional travellers. These bundles offer discounts of up to 20% and 30% compared to daily tickets and are available through the Stagecoach app.

 

Alongside this launch:

  • The traditional Term Rider is being renamed the College Term Ticket, available for students aged 16+ in full-time education.
  • All child single fares will now also be available via the app, thanks to the success of Stagecoach’s earlier point-to-point trial for adults.

Barnstaple, Exeter & Plymouth Zones

  • Day Ticket: £3.60
  • Best Value: As low as £2/day with a 28 Day Ticket
  • Flexi Savings: Flexi 10 = £2.54/day (30% discount)

Torbay Zone

  • Day Ticket: £4.60
  • Best Value: As low as £2.50/day with a 28 Day Ticket
  • Flexi Savings: Flexi 10 = £3.23/day

South West Zone

  • Day Ticket: £6.60
  • Best Value: As low as £3.49/day with a 28 Day Ticket
  • Flexi Savings: Flexi 10 = £4.62/day

 

While occasional fare increases are necessary to maintain service levels, Stagecoach’s updated ticket range delivers significant savings compared to private school transport or ad hoc travel, especially for those attending schools outside of their catchment area.
