Kasia relocated from Poland to England in 2005 and spent her early years in the UK working in various roles, from house cleaning to jobs in pubs.

Afterwards, she decided to apply for a role as a bus driver at Stagecoach, a position she held for 11 years. Now, having been with Stagecoach South for a total of 14 years, Kasia has made impressive strides in her career. She was first promoted to Bus Inspector in 2022, then advanced to Controller in 2024, before stepping into her current role as Interim Assistant Operations Manager in Winchester.
Her journey was not without challenges. Despite having a strong command of English, she had to familiarise herself with local colloquialisms and industry-specific terminology during her initial job interview and training. However, through perseverance and determination, she excelled—achieving an outstanding 98% on her theory test, an accomplishment that both she and Stagecoach South take immense pride in.
As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Kasia has found unwavering support from her colleagues and has been given numerous opportunities to develop and grow within the company. This International Women’s Day, we celebrate Kasia as a role model for women in the transport industry. Her story highlights the resilience, determination, and ambition that women bring to the workforce, breaking barriers and forging new paths. Kasia’s journey is a testament to the opportunities available at Stagecoach South and beyond, inspiring women everywhere to pursue their goals with confidence.
We could not be prouder of Kasia’s achievements and the positivity she brings to every role she takes on. Thank you, Kasia, for not only inspiring women everywhere but also for embodying the values of Stagecoach South every single day.
