Tram ticket price increases from 2 January 2023

Stagecoach Supertram confirm increases to some tram ticket prices from Monday 2 January 2023.

 

Like many sectors of the economy, we are seeing significant cost increases, primarily driven by increased staffing costs, energy costs and commodity costs which impact replacement part costs.  Also, although we have seen a steady increase in the number of people using public transport, it is still significantly below pre-Covid levels. Fares increases being made are below the annual rate of inflation.

 

Stagecoach has consistently delivered some of the lowest ticket prices in the country and we are committed to continuing to keep fares as low as possible for our passengers. All the money received in fares goes towards paying for the day-to-day running of services as well as investing in improvements. 

 

Discounts continue to be available for tickets bought online or on the app rather than on tram. Flexi-5 tickets also continue to be available (exclusively via the Stagecoach Bus app) to reflect changing travel patterns. These tickets offer five Tram Only DayRiders for the price of four which can be used on any day within a month. 

We've also frozen the price of our child 7 and 28 days tickets.

For single journeys the £2.00 flat fare promotion which applies to tram travel as well as to buses will remain in place until 31 March 2023. There will be no change to these fares until after the promotion ends.
