Celebrating 20 years of Stagecoach service in South Yorkshire

Long-serving members of the team from local bus operator, Stagecoach Yorkshire, have gathered to mark 20 years of the operator in South Yorkshire, and to witness the unveiling of a specially designed bus, which has been wrapped with their pictures.

20 years ago this week, Stagecoach took over the operations of Yorkshire Traction in South Yorkshire – and has since developed into a modern and sophisticated bus operator serving local communities.

In November, Rawmarsh depot (one of Stagecoach Yorkshire’s five depots) was awarded Bronze for Top National Bus Depot across all bus companies at the UK Bus Awards 2025. Alongside this, Stagecoach Yorkshire won Silver for the innovation of an electrification project in partnership with VEV-IQ, and a dedicated bus driver proudly earned finalist recognition for Top National Bus Driver.

Meanwhile, in October Stagecoach Yorkshire was part of the successful partnership that took home the Best Alliance/Collaboration prize at the National Transport Awards.

Our customers place their trust in us day in and day out, and it’s these incredible people, with a proud history of doing things well, who make that promise a reality.”
