Local bus team don their Christmas jumpers to raise money for children's charity

11 Dec 2025

Local bus Drivers, Engineers, Cleaners and Support teams are putting on their Christmas jumpers to raise vital funds for charity.

Throughout December, the team from local bus operator, Stagecoach, will be dusting off their fun Christmas jumpers and brightening the run-up to Christmas for all their passengers, as the operator continues to raise money for Save The Children.

Save The Children is a major charity offering support and education to children in need. Last year, it allowed 7.5 million children to access quality education programmes, 1.8 million children to receive essential healthcare, and it protected 890,000 from violence and exploitation.

It responded to 112 emergencies, with an average response time of 72 hours from disaster to aid delivery, and it reached 23.8 million people through the Children's Emergency Fund.

The news comes just weeks after Stagecoach Yorkshire announced that it would donate £1 to Age UK for each colleague who answered its annual ‘Tell Me’ survey. Tell Me gives Stagecoach’s colleagues, across the country, the opportunity to express their opinions in complete confidence, so the operator can develop and build on their views.

Matt Kitchin, Managing Director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “As we run up to the festive people, we are pleased brighten up our customers’ day and, by doing so, help young people, in our region, who really need our help. It is always fun to see the team in their Christmas jumpers, and I am proud of the effort to spread a little festive cheer.

“We wish all our passengers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."
