STAGECOACH READY FOR JUDGES VERDICTS FOR THREE PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS

Local bus operator, Stagecoach Yorkshire, is set to find out whether it has won the top prize after being shortlisted in a remarkable three categories at one of the most prestigious awards schemes in the UK bus industry.

The UK Bus Awards are hugely respected, with a 25-year history of recognising, rewarding, and inspiring the people in the industry. This year’s Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held at the famous Troxy in London, on 25th November.

Local Driver, Andrew ‘Baggy’ Bagshaw, is a Finalist in the category of Top National Bus Driver: The Chris Moyes Memorial Award. His success is based on being hugely enthusiastic about his work, his support of local charities, and the fact that he loves talking to his passengers - who love him in return.

Meanwhile, Rawmarsh Depot is Shortlisted in the Depot of the Year category, after consistently being amongst the best performing depots in the whole of Stagecoach (117 depots) and having developed at pace, yet further, over the past year from an already high performance base.

And the operator has also been nominated for the Environmental Innovation Award due to its extensive electrification project, delivered in collaboration with e-fleet solutions provider VEV at its Chesterfield depot, which is now fully electric.

Matt Kitchin, Managing Director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “We are really looking forward to finding out the results, but, the fact is that just to be made Finalists in three categories at the UK Bus Award is a real testament to the team’s hard work and desire to provide the best possible service for the people, and communities, in our region.
