Stagecoach’s Chesterfield bus depot has announced an outstanding score, of 10, for the quality and environmental consideration of their driving, over the past month.
Driver safety specialists GreenRoad monitor the performance of drivers across Stagecoach, as evidenced by safety scores and displaying true mastery of the driving profession.
Rob McCarthy, Operations Manager at Stagecoach in Chesterfield, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to announce a score of 10 for our drivers over the past four weeks. It’s a fantastic achievement and has been brought about by all our team, who work so hard for our customers. A special shout-out to Gary Lord and James Roddis, who have been working hard and sharing best practice and top tips on how to reduce our score.
“We've got some friendly competition going on with our fellow Stagecoach depots in the region, and I truly believe that we can keep this brilliant momentum going and improve our score even further.”
At the end of last year, 202 Drivers from across Stagecoach in Derbyshire and Yorkshire were recognised, by GreenRoad, for their exceptional driving standards and dedication to road safety.
In total, 55 local drivers were revealed to have reached ‘Grand Master’ or ‘Master’ Fleet Elite status for having maintained the highest standards of safe and fuel-efficient driving for 10 and four years.
Operations Director, Bill McCartney, said: “As a bus operator, the safety of our staff and passengers is our number one priority, so I am extremely proud that such a huge number of our drivers have been recognised for their driving excellence.
“We know that our customers rely on us, so we cannot get things wrong when we are out on the road. Our drivers continue to demonstrate their commitment to achieving the highest standards, day in day out.”
