In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.
Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales it is compulsory to wear a three layer face covering on public transport. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.
The safety of our customers and employees is our priority, so please avoid busy times, use contactless payment and take your litter with you. For up to date information see our Coronavirus page
Over the last few months, we’ve made several changes to our services in line with Government guidance and in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our services are currently running special timetables, and we plan to make further changes as we ease further out of lockdown, and more of our passengers wish to travel.
Going forward, we want to prepare for the “new normal” and with that in mind, we’re reviewing our network of services across Fife, Perth & Kinross, Dundee & Angus.
Thank you to everyone who has submitted feedback regarding our proposals from Monday 28th September 2020, which can still be found below.
Please note that there may be more changes to our services between now and 28th September, in line with Government guidelines.
A full summary of our proposed changes can be found below. Please note that our consultation is now closed and any updates will be published in due course.
Service 4: Dunfermline – Oakley – Blairhall
We're looking to make some minor timetable changes only.
Service 6: Crombie – Charlestown – Limekilns – Dunfermline
We're proposing to withdraw this service as it was under-performing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and despite interventions to make the service more attractive, it remains unpopular. We will however continue to run the morning and afternoon school journeys.
Service 8/8A: Dunfermline – Culross / Alloa
This service was extended to Falkirk in partnership with Fife Council and relied on passenger numbers increasing each year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, passenger numbers are expected to stay low for some time, making this extension no longer viable.
We're proposing to re-route service 8A to Alloa to also serve Culross but will no longer service Clackmannan Main Street, staying on Alloa Road.
Service 19: Rosyth – Dunfermline – Halbeath P&R – Cowdenbeath – Ballingry
We're proposing to revise this service to run up to every 15 minutes during the day. The route would also change so the service runs the same route between Rosyth and Ballingry during the day serving Fife Leisure Park and Hill of Beath.
Amazon journeys would be renumbered to 19A and Rosyth Dockyard journeys renumbered to 19D.
Service 23: St Andrews – Cupar – Auchtermuchty – Kinross – Dollar – Stirling
We're proposing to withdraw this service as it was under-performing prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, and increasing costs mean that this service operates at a significant loss, resulting in us no longer being able to commercially run the service
Service 747: Halbeath Park and Ride - Ferrytoll Park and Ride - Edinburgh Airport
We're looking to revise this service to run up to every 20 minutes.
Service 92: David Russell Apartments – North Street
We're proposing to withdrawn this service which operates during St Andrews University term time only. It has seen decreasing numbers of passengers over the years and we are no longer able to run the service commercially.
Service X24/X26: St Andrews/Dundee – Glenrothes – Halbeath P&R – Dunfermline – Kincardine – Glasgow
We're looking to revise these timetables with service X24 no longer serving Glasgow Airport.
Service 7/A/7B: Scone P&R – City Centre – Broxden – Hillend
We're looking to change the frequency of this service to run up to every 15 minutes during the day. The route would also be revised at Hillend to run directly to Broxden Park and Ride from Perth city then operate a clockwise loop around Oakbank Road, Viewlands Road, Fittis Road, before returning to Broxden then onto the city.
Service 9: North Muirton – City Centre – Aviva
We're proposing some minor timetable changes to accommodate the changes to service 7.
Service 56: Perth – Bridge of Earn – Milnathort – Kinross
We're proposing to remove the day time commercial journeys due to low passenger numbers on this route.
The morning and afternoon college journeys and afternoon tendered journeys will not be affected.
Service 73: Arbroath – Carnoustie – Monifieth – Dundee – Ninewells
We're looking to change the frequency of this service to run up to every 15 minutes from Monifieth to Ninewells.
