How bus tracking works

Our new system will allow us to tell you exactly when your next bus is due by monitoring and reporting on its progress in real-time. Live times will only display when they are available and are indicated by the green word 'LIVE'. All other times are based on our bus timetables.

How to track live bus times with Stagecoach

There are three ways to track your bus:

Using live bus route maps

From anywhere on Stagecoachbus.com set your location in the top right corner to ensure we find the bus you need.

Navigate to our live bus times and stops page, then enter your street, town or postcode.

Your results will show the buses arriving soon at the bus stops near you, live times will appear in green and scheduled times will appear in black.

Using the Stagecoach Journey Planner

Check your location is set to the right area for the bus you need (you can change it in the top right corner of every page on our website).

On our homepage or Journey Planner, type in where you are travelling from and where you would like to go. Select your locations in the drop-down, then select the date and time of travel.

From there you can see when your bus is due to depart and arrival times at your chosen location. You can also see earlier and later bus times alongside the ticket price.

Click 'Show details' to view the journey the bus will take and stops along the way - scheduled times will appear in black, and live times will appear in green.

Find live bus times on the Stagecoach Bus App

Download from the App store or Google play store.

Once downloaded, open up the app and set your location - - you can type in a postcode or town, or use your current location.

Tap Nearby. Choose ‘Find a bus' or 'Find a Bus Stop’. To use 'Find a Bus' type in your bus number and choose your stop. Live times will be displayed in green, and scheduled times will be in black.

To use 'Find a Bus Stop' enter your location and choose your nearest stop, select the stop to see live bus time.
