Driving Net Zero: Better Places to Live and Work

Stagecoach is part of the fabric of daily life and we’re proud to have served communities across the UK for more than 40 years. Connecting you with jobs, taking you for days out, helping you get to school, college and university, or just to visit your friends and families, we want to be here for another 40 years. But we can’t do it without making some changes so that we are fit for future and looking after our planet at the same time.

Waste from Ladfill

So, we’ve done some research, set goals, put in place plans and we are ready to make change happen:

  • We’ll be sending as little as possible to landfill, conserving water and minimising energy use.
  • We want to continue to be the biggest and best bus and coach company in the UK, this will give you more travel options and create a better place to live and work.
  • Help tackle climate change - ditch the car and walk, cycle or use public transport instead. Did you know, one full double decker bus takes 75 cars off the road?
  • Our plan is to become completely carbon neutral by 2050.

Green Vehicles

  • We want our Government to set clear messages on environmental policies so that we all know what we should be doing.
  • You’ll see more electric buses in future as we have a goal of having a zero emission UK bus fleet by 2035.
  • A diverse business is a successful one. That’s why we’ve set a target of 40% female leaders and 25% of our people from ethnically diverse backgrounds by 2026. Different opinions, viewpoints and life experiences will help ensure we provide our communities with the best service possible.
  • Our customers and local community are so important to us, that’s why we’ve agreed to give 0.5% of pre-tax profit to charity and community causes in our ‘give back programme’.
