The concessionary bus pass in Scotland is called the National Entitlement Card.

How do I apply for my free bus pass?

If you’ve not applied for your free bus pass then apply today to avoid missing out any longer! You can apply two weeks before your 60th birthday and let the good times roll from there in.

 

The application process is simple and you can apply online, at your local Post Office, to your local council or through a local library.

Aberdeen - Crathes - Aboyne - Ballater

As we head out of Aberdeen through the hustle and bustle of the busy city centre and head towards the country side. Driving through the picturesque villages of Crathes, Banchory and Aboyne and everywhere in-between. 

Looking to have a nice day out ? Jump on our 201/202 service and take in the beautiful Royal Deeside scenery and make your way over to Balmoral Castle, exploring the beautiful gardens and castle. Finish the day off at Ballater looking at the lovely local gift shops and enjoy lunch or a coffee at the many cafes to choose from.

Aberdeen - Oldmeldrum -Macduff - Portsoy -Cullen - Buckie - Elgin

Start off at Oldmeldrum and enjoy a dram of whiskey and a tour at Glen Garioch Distillery . Next stop head to Macduff  Aquarium and explore the variety of marine wildlife available.
Venturing further along the beautiful Moray coast we reach Cullen. Cullen is perfect for a scenic walk on the beach. Or take it easy with some Cullen Skink in the square followed by a tasty treat at the Ice Cream shop!
Then our last stop Elgin, The town offers breath-taking scenery, high street shop and restaurants and take in the history of Elgin Cathedral. There is number of local distilleries including Glen Moray to explore.

Welcome aboard

 

If you’re new to using our buses, our friendly drivers will welcome you on board and help with any questions you have. It really is an easy process:

  • There’s no activation needed – you can use your card straight away
  • Pop your card down, photo side up onto the reader
  • Tell the driver where you’re off to
  • Wait till the light turns green and listen for the beep
  • Remove your card and take a seat
  • When you’re ready to get off, press the ‘stop’ bell and the driver will stop the bus at your chosen stop
  • The concessionary bus pass is called the National Entitlement Card.

    When you can use your National Entitlement Card

    Your pass can be used at any time, every day of the week. There are no peak-time restrictions, however concession passes are not valid on some specific night buses where a set fare is applicable.

    Where you can use your National Entitlement Card

    You can travel for free on all local bus and coach services anywhere in Scotland.

    Your National Entitlement Card is valid on services to and from Carlisle and on services to and from Berwick-upon-Tweed from anywhere in Scotland. It's not valid for travel within these towns. It's not valid for all other journeys in England, or Wales.
