Looking for an Orkney bus tour? You need Route T11

One of the best things to do in Orkney is to hop on-board our T11 service and tour the island's best attractions. If you are looking for an Orkney bus tour, look no further - not only does the T11 offer stunning views, the entire tour is only £2 per person.

 

The service departs each morning at 10am from Kirkwall, before travelling south to St Margarets Hope and then along the coast arriving at Stromness. Route T11 then stops at Ring of Brodgar and passes the Standing Stones of Stenness before returning to Kirkwall via Twatt and Dounby.

 

This service will only operate 26th April until 20th September 2026 (and corresponding dates in subsequent years) and when cruise liners call at Kirkwall and may operate out with these times when Ferry's call at Kirkwall.

Looking for a Stromness to Kirkwall bus? You need Service X1

The X1 service is ideal for those travelling from Stromness to Kirkwall wanting to see the best Orkney attractions in between. Highlights along the X1 route include the Churchill Barriers, the Italian Chapel and Highland Park Distillery which you can read all about below. 

You can also visit  Maeshowe if you take the X1 to Stenness Visitor Centre and use the shuttle bus to  Maeshowe. For those travelling to Orkney by ferry, we also offer connecting services from the ferry terminal throughout the islands. 

 

Orkney bus timetables are all available to download so you can begin planning your trip. All of our bus services run on a ‘hail and ride’ basis out with built-up areas. Simply get into a safe spot on the main  road and make it clear to our driver that you’d like to get on board. * Service X10 is a bus transfer service for NorthLink Ferry passengers in Orkney. It meets with NorthLink’s evening arrival and departure sailings from Hatston Pier to Kirkwall and Stromness.

 

 

Travelling to Orkney by plane?

Jump on the service 4 which will take you from Kirwall Airport to Kirkwall in just 13 minutes. With services running every 30 minutes, you'll be sightseeing in no time! Alternatively service 3 will take you from Kirkwall Airport to Deerness.

 

Taking the ferry to Orkney?

The X10 picks up  from the NorthLink Ferry at Hatston Pier.  It meets with NorthLink’s evening arrival and departure sailings from Hatston Pier to Kirkwall and Stromness.
