In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.

Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales you must wear a 3 layer face covering on public transport and put it on before travelling unless you are exempt. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.

Cheltenham to Oxford Bus

From the 26th July, we're pleased to be running the 853 bus service between Cheltenham & Oxford.

Travelling by bus to Oxford is a great way to explore the City. The bus runs directly along the A40,  passing through the beautiful countryside villages of Northleach, Burford and Witney.

The bus stops in Oxford at St Giles in the City Centre, which is within a 15 minute walk of the Westgate Shopping Centre ,  Oxford Castle,  Museum of Natural History and University of Oxford - so there's plenty to do and see.  For some inspiration on great days out in Oxford, why not check out the Visit Oxford website.

    • When you're on the bus, sit one person per double row. Leaving the space next to and behind someone free.
    • Try to pay for your ticket using contactless or buy through the Stagecoach Bus App, although we will still accept cash.
    • Don't forget your face covering - it is now mandatory to wear these on public transport unless you are exempt.
