We’re onboard for Catch the bus month 2025, are you?
This September we’re on a mission to share the benefits of bus travel as part of Catch the Bus month.
Run by Bus Users UK, the annual month dedicated to championing bus travel aims to show the vital role that buses play, from boosting the local economy to keeping communities connected and helping protect the environment every bus journey makes a difference.
So, whether you’re commuting to work, heading to the shops, planning a day out or visiting friends and family there are so many reasons to #LoveTheBus this September.
- You can get where you need to go whilst you sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Let someone else do the driving while you read, scroll, or simply unwind. So to make the most of your added me time, make sure to bring a book, or your device to catch up on emails or simply take in the scenery
- You won’t spend money on petrol and parking plus, with single fares from £3 it’s a great saving and you don’t have to search for a parking space at busy times
- It’s perfect for a night out with friends – no one has to be the designated driver and on Saturdays on selected routes you can use our NightBus services in Exeter, Torbay and Plymouth.
- It’s a greener way to travel – every bus ride helps reduce emissions and eases congestion. Did you know a double decker bus takes up to 75 cars off the road?
- Plan your journey to catch up with friends and family at a Heritage Open Day in the South West from the 12th to 21st September 2025. This 10-day festival celebrates England’s history and culture. It’s a chance to try out new experiences and catch up with loved ones – free of charge. Find a host of experiences in your local area here: Heritage Open Days
- You can take part in Car Free Day on the 22nd September by taking the bus to work, college, school or university instead of travelling by car
- Visit somewhere new on World Tourism Day (27th September). Our network of routes across the South West will provide you with access to your very own undiscovered gems
- You can stay connected – if you don’t drive, the bus can keep you on the move for all of your activities
- It supports people by providing thousands across the South West with employment
- It helps boost the local economy by bringing people into high streets, events, and attractions, supporting local businesses.
