Supporting Carers on our services

Carers Week

We’re delighted to be supporting Carers Week 2024 this year. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

Be sure to save the date in your diary for this year’s Carers Week, which is taking place from 10-16 June when we’ll be joining together in putting carers on the map. This Carers Week, we want communities across the UK to come together to support and lift up our carers. Politicians, employers, health and social services, businesses, education providers and members of the public all have a role to play in raising the status of carers until they have the recognition they deserve for all their contributions to society.

Carers Week is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities and highlight the vital role carers play in our communities, drawing attention to just how important caring is. Travelling for Carers

You will be able to travel on any bus in Scotland for free with a Companion Benefit which will be a +1 on your card. This will entitle the companion to travel for free on the same bus journey as yourself. All you need to do is ask the person you're caring for to present their card and you'll both receive free travel.

Journey Assistance Cards

Journey Assistance Cards are available for you to use if you need a bit more help when using the bus. They’ll make it easier for you to let our bus drivers know what extra help you need.
