Senior Bus Pass FAQs
Do over 60s get free bus passes in England?
The age at which you can get a free bus pass varies, depending on where you live. If you live in Scotland or Wales, you can get a concessionary bus pass when you turn 60.
How can I apply for the over 60 bus pass?
Scotland
If you're 60 or over, you can get an application form from your local Post Office or from a Strathclyde Partnership of Transport (SPT) travel centre.
Wales
You can apply for a concessionary travel pass by contacting going to Transport for Wales and applying online or by emailing [email protected].
How do I use my over 60 bus pass?
Once you've received your concessionary bus pass, you can use it immediately. First, show your bus pass to the driver, then hold it against the reader on the ticket machine, just like you do with a bank card. Wait for the green light or listen for a beep - remove your pass, take your receipt (if in Scotland or Wales you will no longer receive a receipt), and choose your seat for your free ride!
How do I renew my over 60 bus pass?
If you have a concessionary or disability bus pass with Stagecoach, there is no need to renew. However, if you lose your pass, you can get a new one either by applying online again (England only) or contacting your local council.
What do I do if I lose my over 60 bus pass?
If you lose your pass, you’ll need to contact the local council that issued it to you for a replacement. Unfortunately, we’re not able to give you free travel if you don’t have your concessionary or disability bus pass with you.
