Contactless is the new way to pay in Oxfordshire

Stagecoach and the Oxford Tube have introduced contactless payment on our buses and coaches in Oxfordshire to make bus travel easier than ever.

No hunting for change – pay quickly and easily using your contactless-enabled credit or debit card.


What is Contactless?

Contactless is the fast, easy and secure way to pay for transactions under £45. All you need is a contactless-enabled card or mobile with Apple Pay/ Google Pay installed and ready to use.


Why Contactless?

No cash? No problem! With contactless you don’t need to worry about finding change to pay for your bus ticket.

All you need is your contactless-ready credit or debit card. You can also use you mobile along with Apple Pay/ Google Pay apps.

No need for chip and PIN – simply place your card close to the reader and pay in seconds.

 

How do i use it?

Ensure you have the contactless symbol on your credit or debit card to ensure you card is contactless-ready. Or ensure your mobile is charged and ready to use Apple Pay/ Google Pay.

Board any Stagecoach* bus in Oxfordshire or any Oxford Tube coach, ask the driver for a ticket, the ticket machine display will show you the ticket is ready, place your card or phone close to the reader to pay.

Wait for the beep.

And you're done! Your ticket will print and you can use your ticket as usual.

Contactless payment can be used for all single, returns, day and weekly tickets up to the value of £45.

Smartcard top ups for one week megarider and Oxford SmartZone can also be paid for using contactless payment, you will be asked for pay first by presenting your contactless card/ phone, then the driver will ask for your smartcard to be presented on the reader.
