Tickets for children (under 15)
Children under 5
Up to three children under the age of 5 can travel for free when accompanied by a responsible passenger. The fare for 5 to 15 year olds will apply for any additional children you are travelling with.

5–15 year olds
Single and return tickets
Children aged 5 to 15 years can travel for between half and two-thirds the cost of the equivalent adult single or day return. This excludes ‘N’ night buses eg the N1 night bus.
Child dayrider tickets
Children aged 5 to 15 can travel with a child dayrider ticket, which are available for some areas. They offer unlimited travel in your chosen travel zone or zones and are valid for twenty four hours from the time you buy them. Group dayrider tickets are also available in some areas. They offer unlimited travel for up to two adults and three children, up to the age of 15.
You can share dayrider tickets with your family and friends when you're not using them.
megarider 18 & under tickets
We have a range of weekly bus tickets available for passengers aged 18 and under. You can choose more than one zone to travel in and how long you want your ticket for. You’ll need to show your ID to prove your age.
Where available, you can pay for a megarider Xtra ticket by a monthly recurring payment and add it to your StagecoachSmart card .
Oxford SmartZone 18 & under passes
Children aged 5 to 18 can get an Oxford SmartZone 18 & under pass, which gives you a 25% discount on adult Oxford SmartZone passes.
It’s perfect if you want to use Stagecoach, Oxford Bus Company and Thames Travel services within the Oxford SmartZone area.
Oxford Tube tickets
As long as they’re accompanied by a fare-paying adult, children aged 5 to 15 can travel for free on our express Oxford to London service any day of the week. This doesn’t include those travelling on a Tube 12 ticket.
Children under 14 always need to be accompanied by an adult, except between Oxford and Lewknor if they’re in school uniform.
