Direct links to Kingsmere

Bus services to Kingsmere

Residents of Kingsmere now have a choice of bus services providing direct links to Oxford City Centre, Bicester Town and Rail Station.

Route 26 – your local Kingsmere to Bicester Town link

Route 26 runs every thirty minutes during the day between Bicester and Kingsmere. The route operates one way, running along:

  • Middleton Stoney Road
  • Pioneer Way
  • the A41 back to the town centre

From the end of January 2021, the route of the 26 will change in Kingsmere to serve Ludlow Road when the road opens. The 26 will also serve Pioneer Road local centre providing a through link to the secondary school to/from Ambrosden.

New routes 29 and H5 - serving Bullingdon Prison and Headington/JR Hospital

Service 26 inter-works with new routes 29/H5 to give a cross town link to Bicester Village station, Graven Hill and Ambrosden.

In Bicester town centre, service 26 will change into route 29 or H5 to provide through links to Bicester Village station and an hourly direct service to Headington and the JR Hospital (H5) and Bullingdon Prison (29).

After serving the JR  Hospital  the H5 also serves Headington Road for Brookes University before looping back into the JR.

When returning from Oxford, remember to catch the H5 home and stay seated for connections as the 26 back through to Kingsmere.

Route S5 – your direct link to Oxford City Centre

The S5 has been simplified to run from Glory Farm (starting/finishing at Skimmingdish Lane), Bicester town centre and Oxford.

The frequency remains every 15 minutes Monday - Saturday and half hourly evenings and Sundays.   At peak times the S5 serves Kingsmere Centre before continuing to Oxford meaning for certain trips you don't need to catch the 26 to Pioneer Square first.

For connections to the JR Hospital if travelling on the S5, passengers can change onto service 700 in Summertown.
