Connecting Exeter: From Rail to Air via the Park & Ride, city centre and beyond

Whether you’re travelling for work, exploring Exeter on a day trip, or taking a flight for your next get away-  route 4 has got you covered with quick and convenient city connections. The route 4 bus service connects Exeter with Cranbrook, Exeter Airport, Exeter University and St David’s Railway Station, daily from early until late.

Route 4 connects the University of Exeter with Exeter St Davids, Exeter City Centre, Honiton Road Park and Ride and Cranbrook.

For frequent and quick connections across Exeter, route 4 is the go to for the cities main interchanges. Buses stop right outside Exeter St David’s Railway Station for onward journeys by rail to a host of destinations, plus hop onto the 4A for flights from Exeter Airport. 

6 buses an hour are offered to customers boarding at Exeter St David’s Railway Station, Exeter City Centre, Honiton Road for the Park and Ride, and Clyst Honiton for Lidl and Amazon.  That’s up to 90 buses daily, giving travellers the confidence of plenty of journey opportunities for their daily commute or day trips into the city centre.

Monday to Saturday, buses operate up to every 12 minutes, from early until late with Sunday and Public Holiday journeys starting and terminating at Exeter St Davids.

Route 4 for Residents:
Buses travel through the heart of Heavitree, offering connections to the thousands of residents of this ward, with a stop also located conveniently just a short walk from the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.  

Route 4 for Commuters:
Customers for the Amazon or Lidl Centres are able to catch either the 4 or 4A, and so have up to 6 buses an hour with a journey time of less than 20 minutes from the city centre. Plus ample journey opportunities for employees of the many business’ near Exeter Airport at the Skypark. 

Route 4 for Students: 
As well as University connections, students across Exeter can also now access both the Exeter college campus situated nearby the airport, as well as the main sites within the city centre.
