UPDATE TO 1-WEEK AND 4-WEEK TICKETS
As
a further step to reduce our environmental impact, increase security and make
it easier and quicker for our passengers to board, from 1st February
we are going to stop 1-week and 4-week GTI tickets being sold on paper.
What does this
mean for you?
The
first time you buy a 1-week or 4-week GTI ticket, you will also need to buy a
re-usable Smartcard for £1. When your
ticket expires the bus driver will be able to add another GTI ticket to your
Smartcard at the normal discounted rate.
What do you need
to do when you board?
It’s
really fast – When you have your ticket, you just need to place the Smartcard
on top of the ticket machine to record your journey. We ask that you continue to always carry your
ID Card at all times.
How is it more
secure?
Once
you have your Smartcard, you can register it through our website so if you lose
your card you can block it to stop it getting used by somebody else.
Is my paper
ticket still valid?
You
can still use any 1-week or 4-week GTI ticket that you bought before 1st
February, but you after this date you will need to buy it on a Smartcard.
