We want to let you know about upcoming changes to Busway services while essential safety fencing is installed along the track. These temporary adjustments will be in place until Spring 2027 .
Service A: Towards Cambridge
Service A will use a temporary stop at the Mace Shop for Histon & Impington, will not serve Orchard Park, and will divert via Histon Road. A temporary stop will be available on Blackhall Road for customers travelling from Orchard Park before the service continues on its usual route into Cambridge.
Service A: Towards St Ives Service A will operate normally into Cambridge, and on Histon Road will stop at Blackhall Road, as the temporary Orchard Park stop, before continuing to the usual stop in Histon.
Service B: Towards Cambridge Service B will use the temporary Mace Shop stop in Histon & Impington, divert through Histon village, then serve all Orchard Park stops. The route will then continue as normal from Cambridge Regional College. During this time, the Cambridge-bound Service A stop at Orchard Park will temporarily be used by the St Ives-bound Service B.
Service B: Towards St Ives Service B will serve Cambridge Regional College as usual, stop at all Orchard Park stops, then leave the track to divert through Histon before rejoining the Busway.
Please note that Service B will continue to serve Orchard Park every 20 minutes. Service A will not serve Orchard Park during the closure. Customers wishing to take Service A from Orchard Park can either travel on Service B to New Square and change there, or walk to the temporary stop on Blackhall Road.
Thank you for your patience while this essential work is carried out.
Further Busway timetable changes have been introduced from Sunday 26th October to help address the current disruption caused by speed limit changes and closure of the southern busway.
Service A
Buses will run every 20 minutes "off peak", between St Ives and Trumpington, rather than every 10 minutes.
A new shuttle A Service will run every 20 minutes between Trumpington and Addenbrookes, independently from the main service, to guarantee a regular service between the sites. Once these shuttles finish at around 15:00, the normal 10-minute A Service will run from Trumpington all the way back to St Ives.
Three morning journeys and one afternoon journey will operate through to Long Road Sixth Form College. These depart Huntingdon bus station at 06:00, 06:20 & 06:40, arriving at Long Road at 08:20, 08:40 and 09:00 respectively. The afternoon journey departs Long Road at 14:50 towards Huntingdon.
Important for your journey: Please be aware that the closure of the southern busway and new speed limits are having a major impact on our Busway network. We advise customer to allow extra time for their journey and to use the Stagecoach App to plan and track your bus.
