Travel for only £2 across the Highlands, Orkney and Moray

There's never been a better time to get on board with Stagecoach Bus. 

If you're a regular bus user, a commuter, or someone who wants to leave the car at home and save money, the brand new £2 Single Bus Fare cap makes travelling across Orkney, the Highlands and Moray easier, cheaper and better value than ever. 

This is your chance to cut travel costs, explore more, and enjoy better value journeys for less. 

The £2 single fare cap is part of the Bus Fare Cap Pilot, funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership with Transport Scotland. Aiming to make bus travel easier to understand, more accessible and better value, particularly in rural and island communities.

What this means in Orkney:

  • Single adult and child fares in Orkney now cost no more than £2
  • Single fares that already cost less than £2 will remain at the lower price.
 

What this means in the Highlands and Moray:

  • From Monday 23rd of March, single adult and child fares in Orkney, Highlands and Moray will cost no more than £2
  • Single fares that already cost less than £2 will remain at the lower price
  • If your journey continues to Aberdeenshire, our usual single fare will apply once you cross the boundary

Already a regular bus traveller? 

Our great value Return, DayRider and MegaRider tickets will remain the same price - and they might still be the best option is you're making multiple journeys in a day, week or month. 

If you have a valid National Entitlement Card, you can continue to travel for free if you are Over 60 or Under 22 on Stagecoach services as usual.

The £2 fare will automatically be applied when buying your ticket on the bus and from the Stagecoach Bus App.

Can I check the price of my journey in advance?

You can check the new price for your single journey in advance by using the journey planner on the Stagecoach app and website. Just select the date when you want to travel and where you’re going to and from, and we will do the rest.

*All Stagecoach services in Moray, Inverness, Badenoch, Strathspey, Caithness, Easter Ross, Sutherland, Orkney and Skye will be included in the £2 single fare cap from 23rd March. Please note that other island communities, including the Isle of Arran are not included in this pilot.
