Kent & East Sussex Student Bus Passes

Calling all students! We offer a great value annual bus ticket called StudentRider.

StudentRider is valid from 1 September 2025 to 31 July 2026 - that’s the whole academic year sorted! It’s available to any student, regardless of age, whether at school, college, or university.

There are local area versions and a South East version. A local StudentRider can only be used in the specified local travel zone. A South East StudentRider can be used throughout the South East region covering Kent and East Sussex.

StudentRider is available as a mobile ticket on your smartphone using the Stagecoach Bus App, or you can get it loaded onto a StagecoachSmart card by ordering from our website.

You’ll need your student ID to activate your ticket.

How do I get a StudentRider bus pass?

You can buy your StudentRider on the Stagecoach Bus App. If you don’t already have our app, just go to App Store or Google Play to download and install on your smartphone. StudentRider comes as a mobile ticket which you show to the bus driver when you board the bus.

To buy your ticket, go to the tickets section on the app, select tickets in ‘South East’ and chose the local area you will be travelling in. Then select the ‘Student’ category to find the StudentRider that suits you. A South East StudentRider is valid on any Stagecoach bus in Kent and East Sussex. A local area StudentRider is valid only within the local travel zone (please check the zone map to make sure it’s valid for where you need to travel).

You’ll need to input your personal information including your student ID number to activate your ticket.

Yes, you don’t need to worry if your plans change. You can get a refund if you need to cancel your ticket, subject to our standard terms and conditions.
