National lockdown restrictions are in place across England until 2 December but bus services are running as normal. You should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. 

In South Wales, all of our timetables will go back to what we were running before the 'firebreak' lockdown. There will also be some timetable changes to a number of Aberdare services to improve connectivity. 

The new tier system is in operation across Scotland, but if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.

We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. The StudentRider bus pass is available to all students in school, college or university, regardless of age. It gives you unlimited travel on all Stagecoach buses from 1 September 2020 through to 31 July 2021, that’s the whole academic year sorted!

How much is a StudentRider bus pass and where can I use it?

There are local and regional versions available.

There are seven different local versions valid in each of our travel zones, the same as the equivalent MegaRider ticket. 

The South East StudentRider is valid on all Stagecoach buses throughout the south east region in Kent and East Sussex. That means you can travel across both counties for just £2.34 per day!

How do I get a StudentRider bus pass?

It will come loaded onto a   StagecoachSmart  card, a reusable travel card which you can top up and add tickets to. Your details are stored on your Stagecoach account so it’s quick and easy to add tickets in the future.

What happens if I lose my StudentRider bus pass?

To safeguard your ticket against theft, loss and damage your StudentRider will be automatically registered when purchased online.

If your StudentRider is lost, stolen or damaged you should notify us immediately:
• Use the ‘My account’  section of the website.
• Contact the StagecoachSmart Helpdesk on 0345 810 1000. 

Where there are 5 or more days left on a ticket, we will transfer this to a new card and issue to the delivery address provided. Please note it can take 3 working days for this to arrive.

Can I cancel my StudentRider bus pass?

You can buy your student bus pass now and get unlimited bus travel whether you’re studying or socialising. And don’t worry if things change later as you can get a refund if you need to cancel your ticket, subject to our standard terms and conditions.
