Fancy a journey that’s sociable, easy and environmentally friendly all whilst getting you to school on time? Make travelling to school a breeze with our handy guide to school buses in the South West.

How to catch the bus to school:

Preparation is the starting point for a smooth journey to and from school. You’ll need to start by planning your journey.

Make sure you familiarise yourself with your new bus journey; know the stops and route the bus takes ahead of time.  Why not ask a family member to drive the bus route to your new school in advance so you feel confident you know where to get on and off before term starts!

Planning your journey:

You can plan your journey on the app or website, the journey planner also details the number of stops from the pick-up to your destination and the approximate timings of the journey.

  1. Set Your home location
  2. Head to Journey planning and add your home location in the first box
  3. Add the stop name or postcode of the location you're travelling to in the second box
  4. Add the time of departure
  5. Press the green plan your journey button to get your bus times

Keep updated with our App!

Make sure you have the Stagecoach Bus App downloaded on your phone, for the latest travel information. Travelling to school is very simple when using the app on your smartphone; you can plan journeys, check timetables and track your bus on the live map feature.

Be bus-considerate

It’s important to be respectful of other passengers onboard as our buses are not exclusive school services. Check out the following tips to ensure you are using the bus correctly:

  • When waiting for the bus, please stand in an orderly queue ensuring you are not blocking the pavement for others.
  • When at bus stops, be mindful of residents and don’t play near the roads.
  • Please allow passengers to disembark before stepping on the bus.
  • If your bus arrives and is full, check the Stagecoach Bus app on your smartphone for the next bus and wait patiently.
  • Keep bags and feet off seats for other passengers to sit down.
  • Be mindful of other passengers, keep noise levels low and don’t play loud music or videos that could disrupt others
  • If you see a vulnerable passenger, please offer your seat to them.
  • If there is nowhere to sit, please move down the bus and hold onto the hand rail.
  • When you reach your stop, press the bell only once to request your stop.
