Adult single and return tickets are now available for purchase on the Stagecoach Bus App.

We've made travelling with us even simpler! With just a few taps, you can buy adult single and return tickets on the Stagecoach Bus App for use on services across West Scotland.

Prefer paying with cash or card? No worriesyou can still buy your single and return tickets directly from the driver when boarding.

Customers across West Scotland are the first in the UK to pilot this scheme, with plans to launch single and return tickets across the UK in the near future.

 

Buying your ticket on the Stagecoach Bus App is quick, easy and offers a wide range of extra perks:

How do you buy an adult single or return on the app?

It couldn't be easier, check out our step by step guide on going digital:

  1. First, you'll need to download the Stagecoach Bus App and create a Stagecoach Bus account. You can also sign in with your Apple, Google or Facebook account.
  2. Once you've logged into your account, use the journey planner to plan where you want to go.
  3. Your journey times will display on your screen and a green button with 'Available tickets' will be in the middle - click on this.
  4. Available ticket options will be displayed - Single, Return, Daily, Weekly, Week+, All.
  5. Select 'Single' or 'Return' option.
  6. Then, 'Buy ticket' and proceed to checkout where you can quickly and easily pay with card, using Apple or Google Pay, or through your PayPal account.

 

How do I use my mobile app ticket?

Once you've purchased your ticket, it will be safely stored in the 'My ticket' section of your app. Not sure where to look? Tap the three lines on the top, left hand side of the screen and select 'Get your ticket'.  

Follow our five simple steps to use your digital ticket!

  1. Buy your single or return ticket 
  2. Read the terms and conditions
  3. Activate your ticket before getting on the bus - your ticket will be valid for 90 minutes from activation, you'll also need a mobile internet connection
  4. Show your ticket to the driver when boarding
  5. Keep your mobile ticket safe

Purchased a ‘Return’ ticket?

Two tickets will display under ‘My Ticket’ section of the app, simply activate the ticket with the destination you’re travelling to and when you’re on your way back activate your second (return) ticket.

Can I still buy a ticket on the bus?

Of course you can, whether you prefer the more personal touch or just prefer using cash or contactless, our drivers have a wide range of tickets available to buy on board.

Plan your journey 

With our handy app you can set your current location, choose your destination and select what time you want to travel. We'll let you know which buses you can catch and what times they run, as well as an estimated journey time. If you're travelling with others, select how many people are travelling and we can tell you what tickets you'll need. 

Save your favourites 

You can add your home and work locations to give your journey planning a head start. You can also save your most used services and bus stops! You can add items to your favourites from the live map or plan a journey screen - just tap the star icon to add them.

Track your journey on our live bus map

Tapping on a service will show you the route and stop times. You can use this feature when you're on the bus to check your expected arrival time and when your stop is coming up.

Check for quieter bus times

Our app has a simple coloured traffic light indicator on the buses within our live map. The view shows how busy your bus service could be. This indicator should be used as a guide and is based on estimated number of passengers for the time of day.

Send a ticket to another person

Did you know you can gift a ticket? If you fancy treating your friends or family to a trip out, you can now purchase a ticket and send it to any other registered Stagecoach Bus App user.

Head to ‘My Tickets’ and find the ticket you want to gift

  1. Tap 'Send to another person' and follow the instructions
  2. You'll need to enter the email address of the person you want to send the ticket to, so make sure they have a Stagecoach Bus account. 
  3. The ticket will be ready and waiting next time they access ‘My Tickets’.
 
 

Transfer tickets to another device 

If you’re upgrading to a fancy new model or have an unfortunate habit of ‘misplacing’ things, just follow a few simple steps and you'll be able to move your ticket to another device.

  1. On the new device, download and log in to the Stagecoach Bus App using your existing account details 
  2. Head to 'My Tickets' and locate your ticket in the 'Active on other device' area 
  3. Tap 'Move to this device' and follow the instructions 
  4. Locate your ticket in 'Tickets to use' and hit 'Resume activation'

Your ticket will now be active on your new phone and you can use it as normal until the end of its original expiry date and time.
