Tickets for children
Children under five
Up to four children under five years old can travel for free if they’re accompanied by a responsible, fare-paying passenger.
These children can’t:
- take a seat that paying passengers might need
- stay in a buggy in an unsuitable place on the bus
Children under five who can’t travel for free can travel at a discounted rate throughout Derbyshire.

11-18 year olds
Young people aged 11-18 years old can travel on any bus in Derbyshire* for just £1.50 for a single journey with a b_line or b_line2 card.

Children and young people in Chesterfield can travel all day and week with the new Child Silver dayrider and megarider tickets.
These tickets are available for all Children aged 5-15 and holders of a b_line1 or b_line2 card or Megatravel or 16-18 travel pass in South Yorkshire.
Valid on all Stagecoach buses across South Yorkshire, Pontefract, Wakefield, Bawtry, Oldcotes, Blyth, Ranskill, Chesterfield, Killamarsh and as far as Mastin Moor, Hillstown, Heath, Holmewood, Tibshelf, Morton, Mickley, Clay Cross, Kelstedge and Holymoorside.
Child DayRider Gold
Children under 16 can get a child dayrider Gold ticket in Yorkshire and Derbyshire.
It allows one day’s unlimited travel on our buses throughout:
- South Yorkshire
- West Yorkshire
- Derbyshire
- Nottinghamshire
- Gainsborough
You won’t be able to use your child dayrider Gold ticket on:
- services operated by Stagecoach Manchester in the Glossop area
Child Derbyshire Wayfarer bus
Children under 16 can get a child Derbyshire Wayfarer bus ticket in Derbyshire.
It allows one day's unlimited travel on all buses in Derbyshire no matter who runs them, and can be used for journeys between Derbyshire and Sheffield city centre on direct buses.
Child Derbyshire Wayfarer bus and train
Children under 16 can get a child Derbyshire Wayfarer bus and train ticket in Derbyshire.
It allows one day's unlimited travel on all buses and trains in Derbyshire no matter who runs them, and can be used for journeys between Derbyshire and Sheffield city centre on direct buses and trains.
