Electric Cities in East Scotland

On Wednesday 15th March 2023 Stagecoach celebrated the launch of the the UKs newest fully-electric city bus network in Dunfermline. 

The vehicles are part of an £14.091M investment into public transport in East Scotland, which was supported by the Scottish Government’s Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund (ScotZEB). Charging facilities have been installed at Dunfermline depot. 

Stagecoach is on target for a zero emission UK bus fleet by 2035, and has introduced new electric buses across many parts of the country, including one of Europe’s biggest investment in e-buses in Manchester. A further 159 new electric buses will be introduced in 2023, including those in Dunfermline, bringing the total to 343. (Read more about our sustainability strategy.) 

Dunfermline

We now have eleven new zero emission buses. Ten new BYD ADL Enviro200EV zero-emission buses and one BYD ADL Enviro400EV double deck vehicle operating on all city centre routes. The vehicles can operate from morning to evening on a single daily charge, and feature -

• USB charging points at each seat,

• interior LED lights

• contactless payment facilities.

With no engine noise or vibration, passengers can look forward to a relaxing experience. 

Perth

We now have 13 zero emission buses to add the fleet of 9 zero emission buses that were introduced in December 2021. 

We have added - 

• 7 single deckers
• 5 midibuses
• 1 double-decker

There are also USB charging points at each seat, interior LED lights and there is contactless payment facilities to make getting on board quicker.

You can buy a single, DayReturn, DayRider and MegaRider ticket from your driver and you can pay using contactless to avoid handling cash. You can pay using cash and our drivers do have change if necessary.
