Fare changes from 1st September 2026

We’re introducing new fares across Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough from 1st September 2026.

These changes are necessary to ensure that the bus services remain financially sustainable.

Some tickets will not change in price:

• £3 single fares – we remain members of the government national fare cap fare.

• £1 Tiger fares – we remain part of the CPCA scheme which offers young people who are in possession of a CPCA Tiger card a £1 fare.

The fare changes will see

• No fare cap fares increase. This includes group tickets.

• Fewer single fares below £3

• A simplified fare zone structure with town zones for Bedford; Cambridge; Peterborough; Fenland and Hertfordshire as well as Megarider Plus Zones for Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire and for East.*

*East zone tickets only available as an Annual Student Ticket

£3 Single journey fare cap

All single bus fares have moved to the national £3 fare cap, meaning that you’ll never pay more than £3 for a single journey across any of our East services.

Ticket Types Explained:

Singles	Valid for one journey. Adult and youth ticket options are available.
DayRider	Unlimited travel within your selected zone for one day. Valid until the last bus of the evening.
Flexi 5 & 10	A bundle of 5 DayRider tickets, valid for use at any time within 12 months. Available exclusively on the Stagecoach App.
7 Day MegaRider	Unlimited travel for 7 consecutive days within your selected zone. Travel 7 days for the price of just 4!
28 Day MegaRider	Unlimited travel for 28 consecutive days within your selected zone.
MegaRider Xtra	Unlimited travel for 28 consecutive days within your selected zone.
Academic Annual Student Bus Pass	Discounted unlimited travel for students within your selected zone for the academic year. Valid student ID required.

Please note: we do not offer Return tickets, but low cost DayRiders offer you more travel for your money!

Passenger Types Explained:

Adult	Standard tickets for passengers aged 19 and over.
Youth	Passengers under 19 (including children) and students with valid photo ID receive 30% off standard fares.*
Small Group	Up to 3 people of any passenger type travelling together.
Large Group	Up to 5 people of any passenger type travelling together.
Concessions	Holders of a valid concessionary bus pass are entitled to free travel, subject to local ENCTS time restrictions. If you’ve reached state pension age or have an eligible disability, you may be entitled to a pass from your local council.
Jobseekers	Jobseekers with a valid Jobcentre Plus Travel Discount. Card can get 50% off single tickets.

*On average compared to adult ticket equivalents

Kids under 5 travel FREE

Up to four children under the age of 5 travel free when accompanied by a fare-paying adult.

Ticket Zones:

There are 2 travel zone types: Town & Plus. Each of these zone types have the same ticket options available but their own pricing structure to reflect the distance in which you can travel in each zone.
