Tickets for children
Under 5
Up to 4 children under the age of 5 can travel for free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger. These children must not:
- use a seat that a paying passenger might need
- be seated in a buggy in an appropriate space on the bus

5–15 year olds
Single and return tickets
Children aged 5 to 15 years can travel for two-thirds or less than the cost of most adult fares. If you’re 12 or over, you may be asked to provide proof of your age when buying a ticket.
Child dayrider tickets
Children under 16 can get a child dayrider ticket. It’ll give you one day’s unlimited travel in your chosen travel zone or zones.
Child megarider tickets
Children under 16 can get a child weekly bus ticket. It provides unlimited travel in your chosen travel zones and you can choose how long you want your ticket to last.
Child all zones tickets
Our child explorer ticket gives you one day’s unlimited travel on most of our buses in South Wales. This ticket isn’t available on Traws Cymru from Newtown to Felinfach or on megabus services.
Children can also get our Day Valleys explorer ticket. This bus-rail ticket is valid for one day’s unlimited travel on all our buses in South Wales. You can also use it on Arriva Trains Wale’s Valley Lines rail service.
Child networkrider ticket
Our child networkrider ticket gives you either one day or one week’s unlimited travel on most of our buses in South Wales. It isn’t available on Traws Cymru from Newtown to Felinfach or on megabus services.
